nuvi 205: ความสามารถเปี่ยมล้น ในราคาที่ดึงดูดใจ

nuvi 205 เป็นเนวิเกเตอรในกลุ่มหน้าจอ 3.5" ที่ได้รับความนิยมสูง ซึ่งเป็นรุ่นที่ต่อเนื่องจาก nuvi 200 ที่ทำให้คนไทยได้สัมผัสกับเนวิเกเตอร์ระดับโลกอย่างการ์มินกันอย่างแพร่หลาย จากคุณสมบัติที่เพรียบพร้อม ในราคาที่ทุกคนเป็นเจ้าของได้ nuvi 205 มาสืบต่อตำนานของ 200 ในราคาดึงดูดใจ แต่ความสามารถนั้นระดับรุ่นบนๆ เลยทีเดียว

จุดเด่นที่สำคัญคือ

- หน้าจอแสดงผลมีการปรับปรุงให้สวยงามและละเอียดขึ้น มีข้อมูลสำคัญเพิ่มมากขึ้น
- บันทึก waypoint ได้ 1000 จุด
- มีหน่วยความจำภายใน 1 GB
- สามารถเก็บเส้น track ซึ่งนำไปแสดงบน Google Earth ได้
- สร้างจุดแวะได้เป็นจำนวนมาก คล้ายกับการสร้างเส้นทาง (route) แต่บันทึกไว้ไม่ได้

- ฟังก์ชั่น Where am I? ซึ่งจะบอกพิกัดปัจจุบัน ที่อยู่ที่ใกล้ที่สุด แยกที่ใกล้ที่สุด โรงพยาบาล สถานีตำรวจ และปั้มน้ำมันที่ใกล้ที่สุด ซึ่งความสามารถเหล่านี้ไม่มีในเครื่อง nuvi รุ่นอื่นๆ

สามารถนำทางแบบเลี้ยวต่อเลี้ยวได้้ทั่วประเทศ เพียงผู้ใช้งานกำหนดจุดหมายเท่านั้น เช่น หาอาคารโฮมเพลส ก็เพียงสะกดชื่อ โฮมเพลส เข้าไปในหมวดการค้นหาสถานที่น่าสนใจ (POI) เครื่องจะแสดงรายชื่อต่างๆ ที่มีคำดังกล่าวขึ้นมาทั้งหมด โดยเริ่มจากใกล้ตัวเราออกไปเรื่อยๆ เมื่อค้นพบแล้วก็เพียงกดปุ่ม "นำทาง" หรือ "Go" nuvi ก็จะคำนวณเส้นทางจากตำแหน่งปัจจุบันไปยังจุดหมายให้ทันที พร้อมทั้งเสียงบอกทางตลอดการนำทาง ซึ่งเสียงบอกทางนี้เป็นส่วนที่สำคัญในการนำทาง

มาพร้อมแผนที่ Thailand Street Map รุ่นล่าสุด ในเขตกรุงเทพ อำเภอเมืองทุกจังหวัด ละเอียดเกือบทุกซอย นอกเขตเมืองมีถนนถึงถนนเลข 4 หลัก อีกทั้งยังมีข้อมูลสถานที่ ที่น่าสนใจต่างๆ เช่น ร้านอาหาร ปั้มน้ำมัน สถานที่ท่องเที่ยว ที่พัก และอื่นๆ อีกกว่า 400,000 แห่ง นอกจากนี้ยังเก็บ waypoint ได้ 500 จุด หากท่านเดินทางไปต่างประเทศก็สามารถนำแผนที่ต่างประเทศที่เป็น micro SD card มาใส่ ก็นำไปใช้ในต่างประเทศทั้งอเมริกา ยุโรป เอเซึย และส่วนต่างของโลกได้อีกด้วย

การควบคุมทั้งหมดทำได้ง่ายดายโดยการใช้นิ้วสัมผัสหน้าจอ ผ่านเมนูที่เป็นมิตรกับผู้ใช้ ซึ่งทำให้การหาจุดหมาย ปลายทางทำได้ภายในเสี้ยวนาที จากนั้นเครื่องก็จะคำนวณเส้นทางการเดินทางจากตำแหน่งปัจจุบันถึงปลายทาง ให้อย่างรวดเร็วสามารถใส่ custom POI ซึ่งเป็น POI พิเศษเช่น กล้องจับความเร็ว ปั้มแกสทั้ง LPG & CNG เป็นต้น อีกทั้งยังมี Travel Guide ของภาคเหนือแถมมาอีกด้วย ที่สำคัญสามารถแสดงผลแผนที่ การหาข้อมูล และเมนู เป็นภาษาไทย หรืออังกฤษ พร้อมเสียงนำทางทั้งภาษา ไทยและอังกฤษ

การติดตั้งง่ายดายเพียงยึดกับกระจกบานหน้าด้วย อุปกรณ์ติดกระจกที่มาพร้อมในกล่อง และนำสายเสียบเข้าที่จุดบุหรี่ก็สามารถใช้งานได้ทันที และมีแบตเตอรี่ภายในเพื่อการนำมาต่อกับคอมพิวเตอร์เพื่อถ่ายโอนข้อมูล หรือเพื่อการวางแผนการเดินทางภายนอกรถ
